Faraway Quilt - September 2024

Machine pieced, hand quilted

A gift for my work bestie’s new baby girl. The backing and brown/blue fabric from the front were both purchased by my friend in Ghana many years ago. After they sat in her parents’ house for too long, she shipped them my way to be made into something new for the new addition. I added butterflies to add a little femininity without being overly girlie. The colors pushed me out of my comfort zone, but ultimately it turned out better than I could have hoped.
